Fr. Mark Pattock was born and raised in Natrona, PA. He is the son of Barbara and Daniel Pattock and the grandson of Helen and John Sadowski. After graduating from Highlands High School in 1982, he and his family relocated to the Philadelphia suburbs. Fr. Mark worked for many years in landscape construction, Executive Services at the world headquarters of ARCO Chemical Co., and as an apprentice to a tile setter. He has been active in serving the Church for many years prior to entering religious life.
Fr. Mark began his Franciscan journey as a professed member of the Secular
Franciscan Order in St. John the Evangelist Parish in Philadelphia and served the lay fraternity as vice minister and minister. Eventually Fr. Mark began to discern his calling to be a Capuchin Friar and entered the Order in 2001. He is a graduate from the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC
with a B.A. in Philosophy. He has also earned two degrees as a Master of Theology and Sacred Divinity from St. Mary's Seminary under the direction of the Society of St. Sulpice in Baltimore Maryland.
He is a self-taught artist, enjoys playing the Appalachian Mountain Dulcimer, and hiking in the mountains. He continues to find great joy in serving the Lord as a Capuchin brother and priest, and would encourage anyone to take the steps to discover the joy of a vocation to the Franciscan way of life.
